About Grant Cook

This time, I'm writing my own bio..........

I am an East Texas musician that lives to perform at my next gig. I love to share my originality and can not think of anything that makes me more fulfilled than to do this from a stage. I've been on concert stages and have also played in the corner of living rooms for private events. It's all the same to me because if it's only one person or a thousand that I reach with each performance, it's exactly what I am supposed to do with my life at this point in time.
I will not "name drop" of who I have shared the stage with or where I have traveled because what's important to me is the future and making new friends/fans with what I have inside of me today. If your curious, take a look at my photo pages or just "google" me :)

Although travel has been a necessary part of my career, it's been a necessary evil to me. I am a homebody and have always been that way as long as I can remember. I was always rushing home from school to pick up any musical instrument I could get my hands on and it was an everyday event. Even today I try to be at home as much as I can and cook our family meal before I go to my local gigs (this explains my ever growing girth).  On the other hand, I have had awesome experiences taking my music to new places I would have never visited on my own and for this I am grateful.

Today..........
I reside at beautiful Lake Palestine, TX. with my wonderful wife and stepdaughter. My daughter lives here at the lake and has blessed me with three Grandchildren. They are a joy to be around and my daughter and son-in-law have a good grip on them. (Bungee chords).

I have a basic recording studio at our home and record for my own backing tracks, demos and other musicians in the East Texas area. I still have a few jingles on radio, but have dropped the "commercial" end of recording for now.  Music keeps me very busy as I may share the stage with a full band or perform solo with my own backing tracks from my studio. This definitely keeps me fresh because I get to perform with so many great musicians from this area when a venue can afford us. When I perform solo, it's a different side of me because I have a chance to share more of my original music and some of my comedy music. I believe I have the best of both worlds and for this I am grateful.

Thank you for spending the time to come to my web site.
